Active traders lean on a few fast tools: a key that sets up an order, a button that closes a whole position, one press that cancels every order in a stock. JagSim’s Chart has them, so you can drill the order entry of a real trading screen with $100,000 in virtual money on real-time prices, with nothing real at risk.
The short version: On a laptop, open Chart settings and turn on Order keys (under Keyboard shortcuts) or One-click trading (under Trading); both stay off until you do. Close, Cancel all, Duplicate and the default quantity need no setting.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| B | The order box on Buy, with your default quantity and the cursor in Quantity |
| S | The order box on Sell, with your default quantity and the cursor in Quantity |
| Shift+B | A market buy of your default quantity, waiting for Enter |
| Shift+S | A market sale of your default quantity, waiting for Enter |
| Enter | Places the order, from Quantity or the price box |
| Esc | Keeps an order that waits for Enter, or leaves the order box |
Turn them on in Chart settings, Keyboard shortcuts, with the switch “Order keys: B, S, Shift+B and Shift+S”. They are off until you do, and the setting is saved on your account.
The same list holds the chart keys: Q for Quantity, A for an alert at the last price, P for a snapshot, F to add or remove the symbol on your watchlist, D for the trend line, I for Indicators & tools, L for the layout, R to reset the zoom, 1 to 4 to focus a chart, and ? for the whole list.
Turn on “One-click trading: Buy and Sell on the chart” in Chart settings, Trading. The chart in focus then shows Sell and Buy at its top left with your default quantity on them (“Buy 1”, or “Buy $100” on a coin). Each press places a market order at once, with no second press, and the line beside the buttons gives the answer: the price it filled at, or the reason it was refused. In a two or four chart layout the buttons follow the chart in focus.
The button reads Sending... the moment you press it, and a second press while an order is on its way sends nothing, so a double click never becomes a double order.
Each holding under Positions has Close. A press opens one line under the row, such as “Sell all 40 AAPL at market?”, with Keep and Yes, sell. Shares already in an open sell order are named and left alone, so the same shares are never sold twice. While the stock market is closed, the line says the sale waits for the next 9:30 AM open; a coin sells at once at any hour. To sell part of a holding, use the order box.
When the chart’s symbol has open orders in more than one row, Cancel all over Open orders cancels every one of them after one confirm line, and leaves other symbols’ orders alone. Each open order has Duplicate: it fills the order box with the same symbol, side, order type, quantity, price and time in force, and nothing is placed until you press the order box’s own button. Use it to send the same limit again, or to change one detail first.
Chart settings, Trading, has Default quantity: a number of shares for stocks (1 until you change it) and a dollar amount for coins ($100 until you change it). The order box opens at your stock default, and at your coin default once you set one. Order keys and one-click trading use both. A stock default is a whole number of shares and a coin default is at least $1.00, the smallest order on JagSim. It is saved on your account, so another device has it too.
VWAP, the session’s average price weighted by volume, is in Indicators & tools under On the price. For a stock it starts again at the 9:30 AM open, so the pre-market does not pull the line, and for a coin, which trades around the clock, at midnight New York time. It works on 1-minute to 1-hour candles, because it measures one session. Like every indicator it is free: any two at a time plus Volume on a free account. More on the chart is on stock chart tools.
Every one of these presses goes through the same order box and the same checks as a normal order: your buying power, the shares you hold, the $1.00 smallest order, whole shares for stocks and the market’s hours. It is a cash account, so Sell only sells what you hold: there is no short selling and no margin. Orders fill at the price of a real trade with no spread and no fee, as how trading works on JagSim sets out. A fast fill on JagSim is practice for the mechanics, not a promise about a real broker’s fills.
Yes. Order keys, one-click trading, Close, Cancel all, Duplicate, the default quantity and VWAP are on every plan, and paper trading itself is free with no time limit.
Order keys and one-click trading are both off until you turn them on. Shift+B and Shift+S only set up an order: Enter places it and Esc keeps it. The keys never act while you type in a field or hold Cmd, Ctrl or Alt.
No. Order keys and one-click trading are for a laptop or desktop. On a phone, Buy and Sell sit in the bar under the chart and take two taps, and Close, Cancel all and Duplicate work as they do on a laptop.
For a stock, Close asks to sell at the next 9:30 AM open, and the sale waits under Open orders until then. A coin sells at once, at any hour.
No. JagSim is a cash account with no short selling: Sell only sells shares or coins you hold.
No. You practice with $100,000 in virtual money on real-time prices. You cannot win, lose, deposit or withdraw real cash.
