JagSim is a free paper-trading simulator that runs in your web browser. You start with a persistent $100,000 paper-trading portfolio, trade real stocks and crypto with virtual money on real-time charts, and climb a live leaderboard. It's built for practicing and getting better, not for trading real money.
Yes. Paper trading is free and stays free, with no credit card needed to start. The $100,000 practice account, live charts, the order ticket, your trade history and the leaderboard are all in the free plan, with no end date. There is also JagSim Pro, and you can try Pro free for one week with no card. Plans lists what it costs.
Both. Coach Jag explains the platform while you use it - tap a word or a button anywhere on the site and Coach Jag explains what it means, and guided tours take you through the whole platform step by step. Most simulators hand you a blank chart and leave you to work it out. A free account includes 2 guided tours and 5 glossary look-ups a day. JagSim Pro includes every guided tour and unlimited look-ups.
JagSim Pro adds the following. Portfolio: 11 performance metrics, a trading calendar and a weekly report. Research: key ratios and dividend history on every company page, Compare for 5 companies with 27 metrics, a stock screener with 10 preset screens, 20 saved screens and CSV export, and 11 calculators. You can trade US-listed stocks and funds in whole shares during market hours, and crypto pairs such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana at any hour, using market, limit and stop orders on real price charts. There is no short selling or margin. Your working orders keep running and fill even while you're away.
Real-time. On a free account, stock and crypto prices are real-time, not 15-minute delayed, and an order fills against a price fetched fresh when it fills. The no-account demo runs on sample prices on purpose; real-time prices start when you make a free account, with no card.
Yes. Crypto trades 24/7 on JagSim, including weekends and holidays when the stock market is closed. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and other major coins trade in the same $100,000 account as your stocks, bought by dollar amount in fractions to 8 decimal places. More: weekend crypto trading.
Yes. JagSim has 1-minute candles, a VWAP that restarts at the 9:30 AM open, optional order keys and one-click Buy and Sell, no pattern day trader rule, and no money at risk. It is for practicing the speed and mechanics of intraday trading, not for income. More: free day trading simulator.
At the price of a real trade when your order arrives, with no bid, ask or spread and no fees, so a real account would usually fill slightly worse. A stock order fills only on a trade of the current session, and one member can trade at most a tenth of a stock's usual daily volume in a session: a larger buy is refused, and a larger sale sells that much each session while the rest waits. There are three order types: market, limit and stop. A market order placed while the stock market is closed fills shortly after the next 9:30 AM New York open. Waiting limit and stop orders are checked against every minute of trading since they were placed. The account is cash only: no margin and no short selling. Yes, free on both plans. Rankings orders every account by total return since it started with $100,000, for this week, this month and all time, and names each week’s top trader the weekly winner. Virtual money only, so there are no prizes. To race only your friends, make a free league.
Yes, free on every plan. Make a private league and send its code or invite link, join a public league, or enter the monthly JagSim League. Replay one of the last five US trading days minute by minute from the 9:30 AM open, at real time up to 600x, and trade it with market, limit and stop orders on a separate $100,000 practice account that never touches your portfolio or Rankings. No. JagSim runs instantly in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. It works on a computer, a tablet or a phone in any modern browser; there is no app-store app, and you do not need one.
