A trading simulator for beginners that teaches while you trade

Most simulators hand a beginner a blank chart and a Buy button. JagSim has Coach Jag built in: tap an underlined word for a plain definition, or take a guided tour that walks you through the real chart and order ticket one step at a time, with $100,000 in virtual money and nothing real at risk.

The short version: JagSim is a free paper trading simulator with a coach inside it. Coach Jag explains trading terms the moment you meet them and runs step-by-step tours on the real screens, starting with placing your first trade.

Learn the words at the moment you meet them

Trading is full of words that sound simple and are not: limit order, buying power, spread, unrealized gain. On JagSim, Coach Jag underlines them on the page. Tap one and a short, plain definition opens right there, with where that thing is on the screen you are looking at, so you never leave the chart to search for it. The public trading glossary has worked examples of the most common terms, free to read without an account.

Guided tours on the real screens

A guided tour points at the real control and explains it, one step at a time. Place your first paper trade, for example, goes through finding a stock, the order ticket, Buy or Sell, market, limit and stop orders, the share count, buying power, what the order costs and what you own afterward. You are using the same buttons you will use every day, not watching a video.

Where a beginner usually starts

The tours follow the questions a new trader asks, roughly in this order:

  • Place your first paper trade: the order ticket from start to finish
  • Read the chart you are looking at: candles, range, interval and the price right now
  • What is a limit vs market order: taking the price now or naming your own
  • Set a stop-loss: the price at which a practice position would be sold
  • Read your P&L on Holdings: what you paid, what it is worth and what is realized
  • Why didn’t my limit fill? and Why your order waits for the open: two common surprises, explained

Mistakes cost nothing here

Every account starts with $100,000 in virtual money on real-time prices. Buy too much, set a stop in the wrong place, sell too early: it stays in your trade history the way it would at a real broker, and the only thing lost is virtual. That is the point of practicing first. The exact rules, from how orders fill to trading hours, are on how trading works on JagSim.

What Coach Jag will not do

Coach Jag never tells you what to buy, when to sell or where a price is headed. It is not a chatbot, and it gives no tips, ratings or price targets. It explains how the tools work so that every decision on your account is your own. JagSim is an educational simulator, not investment advice.

Common questions

Is JagSim good for complete beginners?

Yes, that is who it is built for. You can place your first practice trade in about a minute, and Coach Jag explains each part of the order ticket as you go.

Do I need to know trading terms first?

No. Tap any underlined word for a plain definition, or read the free trading glossary first.

Is Coach Jag free?

A free account includes 5 look-ups a day and 2 guided tours, and paper trading stays free with no time limit. JagSim Pro includes every look-up and every tour; it has a one-week free trial with no card, and the Plans page shows the price.

Will Coach Jag tell me what to buy?

No. Coach Jag explains terms and walks you through the tools. It never gives picks, predictions or price targets.

Is the money real?

No. You practice with $100,000 in virtual money on real-time market data. You cannot win, lose, deposit or withdraw real cash.

Do I need an account?

You can try the demo with no account. Coach Jag comes with a free account, which also saves your portfolio and your place in Rankings.
